We’ve arranged the following group activities to make it even easier for you to maximize your time in New Orleans — whether you’re solo or in a group with other convention attendees. Tickets for all events must be added through the convention registration process.

Creole Queen Riverboat Cruise

Tuesday, April 26

6:15 - 9:00 p.m.

Step back into the glamour and romance of the riverboat era with a cruise aboard the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen! Experience the lively sounds of traditional New Orleans music while enjoying a little dancing, a classic New Orleans cocktail, and sweet Mississippi River breezes on our promenade deck as the city skyline slips by under a canopy of stars. This nighttime cruise is pure New Orleans. Cash bar and a la carte food options will be available. Transportation to and from riverboat dock not included.

Step back into the glamour and romance of the riverboat era with a cruise aboard the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen! Experience the lively sounds of traditional New Orleans music while enjoying a lavish Creole Buffet in our elegantly appointed dining room. After dinner, and maybe a little dancing, enjoy a classic New Orleans cocktail and sweet Mississippi River breezes on our promenade deck as the city skyline slips by under a canopy of stars. This nighttime cruise is pure New Orleans. This options includes the nighttime cruise and buffet dinner. Current menu (subject to change) includes: Cajun Caesar Salad, Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo, Louisiana Creole Jambalaya, Cajun Baked Chicken, Roast Beef Debris, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Cajun Seafood Pasta , Red Beans & Rice, Corn Mac Choux, Fresh Roasted Vegetables, Paddlewheeler White Chocolate Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce, and French Bread Rolls & Cornbread. Haunted History Tour - French Quarter Ghosts & Legends Tour

Discover New Orleans’ dark side on this two‐hour haunted history ghost tour. Hear tales of famous hauntings from your local guide, and visit the French Quarter’s most infamous and eerie locations — hotspots for paranormal investigators and historical videographers. Drink in the history of the city as it’s woven through legendary stories of misfortune, disasters, and disease that have left ghosts and spirits walking among us on old New Orleans streets. On this haunted tour of New Orleans’ oldest neighborhood, hear stories of the historical events and people and see the haunted sites. Haunted History walking tours are rooted in history and feature historically accurate storytelling. The ghost tour combines the ancient art of storytelling with historic research and documentation about ghosts and haunting in New Orleans. Unlike a theatrical fantasy tour relying on costumes and camp, we draw heavily on the drama of history. Discover interesting sites that you might otherwise pass without notice. New Orleans School of Cooking Demo Class and Meal

7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

In this New Orleans School of Cooking demo class, you get to sit back and watch as one of our entertaining chefs prepares a traditional four-course New Orleans meal while weaving in the history and folklore of our cuisine and culture. The class includes the full meal, beverage, and copies of the recipes. The menu for this four-course meal includes: chicken and andouille gumbo, chicken and sausage jamalaya, bread pudding, and pralines with water, lemonade, ice tea, and a local beer. Please review this menu to determine whether this opportunity is a good fit for you. We may not be able to accommodate individual dietary restrictions. Transportation not included.

Behind the Scenes Tour of Mardi Gras World

See a special side of Mardi Gras that no one else gets to see! Guests will enjoy a 15-minute movie, a slice of local favorite, Gambino’s King Cake, and an hour tour through our working warehouse where our artists make over 80% of the Mardi Gras props, floats and fun. Be sure to bring your camera and take advantage of our many photo ops, including trying on float rider costumes! Transportation not included.

Mardi Gras World Tour plus Mask Making Experience

Saturday, April 30

1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

See a special side of Mardi Gras that no one else gets to see! Guests will enjoy a 15-minute movie, a slice of local favorite, Gambino’s King Cake, and an hour tour through our working warehouse where our artists make over 80% of the Mardi Gras props, floats and fun. Be sure to bring your camera and take advantage of our many photo ops, including trying on float rider costumes! After the tour, one of our very own Mardi Gras World certified artists will lead you through designing your very own Mardi Gras mask. We will provide all of the magic you need to create your masterpiece including a premium felt-backed mask, glitter, feathers and more. Once your creation is complete, be sure to wear it around town for the rest of the day! Transportation not included.

World War II Museum Self-Guided Tour

Self-guided - anytime after 11:30 a.m.

The National WWII Museum tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world — why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today — so that all generations can understand the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn. Through exhibits, multimedia experiences, and thousands of personal accounts, the Museum takes visitors on an immersive tour of World War II in every theater of war. A world of history awaits your discovery as you explore the museum's vast campus of 5 buildings on a self-guided tour. Ticket price includes tax. Transportation not included.
