SHAPE America Announces 2018 Honor Award Recipients

RESTON, VA, March 14, 2018 — SHAPE America-Society of Health and Physical Educators today announced the class of 2018 Honor Award recipients. This year’s outstanding professionals will be recognized at the 133rd SHAPE America National Convention & Expo in Nashville, March 22, at the Professional Excellence Awards Ceremony. They are:

  • Lori Dunn, Seattle Public Schools, WA
  • Tom Loughrey, Missouri Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance
  • Dorothy Orr, SHAPE Alaska
  • Bobbie Perry, Kamehameha Elementary, HI

The SHAPE America Honor Awards have been a tradition for 87 years. First began in 1931, the awards continue to this day in recognition for meritorious service by our members.

“The SHAPE America Honor Award recognizes individuals of personal integrity who exemplify the spirit of devoted service to the professions and who has made an outstanding and noteworthy contribution to the advancement of health, physical education, recreation, or dance,” says SHAPE America President Fran Cleland of West Chester University (PA).
