Tuesday’s Opening General Session will include a keynote presentation by Dr. Adolph Brown, servant-leader, lifelong social justice advocate, and a career teacher educator.
Raised by a single parent mother in extreme poverty, Adolph Brown lived through many adverse childhood experiences. The inner city housing projects where he grew up were filled with gangs, drugs and violence, and at age 11, Brown’s only brother was murdered. A former at-risk student who had one foot in gifted education and the other in alternative education, Brown knows that the “Whole Student” deserves a “Whole Education.”
Using evidence-informed practice combined with available research and his vast experience as a veteran educator, Brown addresses best practices in the classroom and beyond for K-14 and higher education.
